What are BotNets?
A Botnet is a collection of software agents, or robots, that run autonomously and
automatically. The term is most commonly associated with malicious software, but it
can also refer to a network of computers using distributed computing software. In simple terms,
the bots will use your website as a base to infect other websites, most likely getting your own
website shut down or black listed by all major search engines and email servers. BotNets are next to impossible
to test for but we do provide a large number of fake botnet attacks on your server to ensure that
any attempts have minimal affects. Protect Your website from BotNet Attack
Different types of BotNet Attacks
Adware & Spyware
Adware is typically inserted into an organisations database of static files, allowing third party illegal vendors to
attempt to sell most likely illegal substances or services through your websites brand. This can cause reputation disapproval.
Spyware
Spyware is one of the more serious security concerns. Spyware waits and filters any data the bots can get there hands on.
This can lead to the capture of user credentials, sensitive personal data and even simple usage patterns which
can assist a hacker to make further advances. Again these bots are hard to find but our system will attempt to
place a harmless bot onto the networked server.
DoS(Denial of Service)
DoS(Denial of Service) attacks are most common. This involves thousands of con-current requests to your website
causing the system to become slow and possible show loop holes.
WebSafe will test for BOTNETS:
WebSafe can prevent your website from becoming a BOTNET by supplying your IT department with a number of test results
that highlight back doors into your website which can allow a hacker to setup a BOTNET on your websites web server.
