Google Warns Irish Business Owners

Google have issued warnings to Business owners who are attempting to promote an online presence. Too often are websites created for business owners and these owners believe that the job is done and dusted once a website is present.

Website Promotion

The main online focus for small/medium sized businesses is to give another gateway or shop window into their products or services, this task is approached by Google website content and search engine optimization with search giants like Google being the main target. But there is more to Google than its search index, they have a responsibility to not only serve genuine relevant search results to its users but Google are also responsible partly for detecting websites that have vulnerabilities exploited and removing these websites from the search results.

Website Security and Reputations Damage

When Google indexes websites, these results are scanned for known website vulnerabilities. As Google is not a auditing firm nor does it have the resources to check if the website is genuine or malicious in its intentions, this website will be black listed by Google. This rather large black book of Google’s is extremely hard to escape from. All the content and search optimizations that have been done for a business website will be completely voided by all search engine giants and it can take months for reconsideration by Google and its partners.

Protect Your Online Presence

Most website hosting providers will keep systems up to date and patched but as to many cases we have seen, that protecting the hosting environment is just one element of protecting websites from attack. The website needs to be checked for security vulnerabilities and flaws on a regular interval. Some website auditing services provide a daily scan. But these scans are very basic in their implementation and only check the bare and obvious vulnerabilities. WebSafe does a complete website overhaul which will allow you to protect your online presence not only from valuable data loss and customer confidence but to retain a reputation with the search engines such as Google who in the long run is a major ally.
